This week, from December 2-7, president Niemat Ahmadi and an international contingent of DWAG global ambassadors are attending the 18th ASP meetings in the Hague. They are speaking in support and on the behalf of Darfuri communities affected by ongoing violence from the Sudanese government/related militias.

The DWAG delegation are bringing with them a letter addressed to all states parties titled “Stand for Justice in Darfur”. The letter calls for continued vigilance and protection for vulnerable communities in Sudan, as well as the extradition of Omar Al-Bashir and three other indicted Sudanese officials to the ICC.

The letter has received an outpouring of support from a collection of undersigners. Organizations from as far as France, the United Kingdom, Sierra Leone, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mali, and Côte d’Ivoire have voiced their backing. This is not to mention key organizations from both the U.S. and Sudan. We hope that this call for action toward the international community will lead to real change for the better for those affected in Sudan.
