Over 38 civil society organizations worldwide cosigned a letter to the member states of the UNSC, urging them to stand with the people of Sudan. The letter stressed that the demonstrators demands are just and that the International Community must press President al-Bashir of Sudan to positively respond to their demands.  The letter further criticized the Security Council’s members’ soft approach toward Sudan by stating ” At no time in history has a leader indicted of multiple crimes by the International Criminal Court, including three counts of genocide against his own people, been treated so generously by this body (UNSC).
