DWAG’s Global Days of Action
End the Genocide of Indigenous Africans in Darfur and Bring Peace to Sudan
Please join us from April 14 – 22, 2025
Dear DWAG supporters,
Darfur Women Action Group (DWAG) writes to you with urgency and outrage to invite you to join our Global Days of Action to end genocide in Darfur and bring peace and justice in Sudan. The genocide in Darfur is escalating as we speak. As the world works to learn from the mistakes of our collective past, the international community has ignored the ongoing crisis terrorizing millions of people in Sudan.
As we are writing to you, the people of Darfur are facing brutal, genocidal attacks by the Rapid Support Forces on the grounds of ethnic targeting. If we do not act quickly, indigenous African communities in Darfur and Sudan at large will be wholly exterminated and erased.
During the next two weeks, we urge you to join our campaign by organizing rallies, protests, writing letters addressed to your legislative representatives, and by using your voices to speak up and stand in solidarity with the people of Darfur. Demand actions that will end genocide permanently and hold perpetrators accountable.
This week has been the deadliest in Darfuri history, particularly in Zamzam camp, where over 500,000 of the most helpless and vulnerable internally displaced communities have resided for more than 20 years. Today, the men, women, and children of Darfur are facing mass murder and live under constant threat of violence. Yet, the world remains silent.
It has been two years since the vicious violence erupted in Sudan, with unprecedented levels of death and destruction targeted at innocent civilians. The genocide in Darfur that started twenty years ago has never been resolved; the victims remained in makeshift camps and were never able to return home because their attackers remained free. Those who committed genocide have yet to be apprehended or held accountable. The recent war has brought untold suffering to the entire population of Sudan, but in Darfur, the attack is systematic, with a deliberate intent to wipe out the entire community because of who they are.
In recent weeks, attacks on civilians have escalated at an alarming rate. In Darfur, ethnic Africans have been subjected to rape, torture, sexual violence, bombings, sheling and mass murder by the RSF mainly targeting internally dispalaced camps in Darfur. At the same time, the SAF has used execution and extrajudicial killings against those trapped in other regions who can’t afford to flee on ethnic grounds. Both warring parties have used starvation as a weapon of war, humanitarian aid has been restricted, and killings and hate speech are on the rise. These horrifying facts indicate that warring parties are laying a dangerous foundation that, if not stopped, will only enable the genocide with total extermination of indigenous Africans in Darfur as the final goal.
Therefore, we are contacting you because this is urgent and cannot wait. We urge and ask the DWAG supporters, the friends of Sudan and Darfur, and all those who are fighting against genocide to join our Global Days of Action by organizing your own event or joining one of ours to speak in one voice and compel our leaders to take serious measures to spark change in Sudan. DWAG’s Global Week of Action will include:

This Genocide Prevention Month, and marking DWAG’s Global Week of Action, we call on the United States, the United Nations Security Council, the African Union, and the broader international community to:
- Swiftly authorize and deploy civilian protection forces to protect the innocent Sudanese people, particularly in Darfur;
- Impose criminal and financial accountability for all individuals and states complicit in committing past and present genocide and war crimes in Sudan;
- Demand that the warring parties immediately cease all attacks and strictly adhere to a permanent, verifiable ceasefire;
- Authorize urgent and unimpeded access to humanitarian aid for all in need across Sudan;
- Press the warring parties to stop the torture, murder, rape, and starvation of civilians as a strategy of war;
- U.S., UNSC, and allies must hold the regional and international enablers supplying weapons to the warring parties in Sudan accountable;
- US and allies must cease the selling of arms to the UAE and prevent genocide in Sudan.
This Genocide Prevention Month, and marking DWAG’s Global Week of Action, we call on our supporters to:

- Send a solidarity message to the people of Zamzam and El Fasher as they face escalating attacks and genocide.
We need your support in the fight against genocide. If we can stand together, speak in one voice, say no to genocide, and get people to take action, we can show our leaders that we care. In the face of genocide, we must not let our leaders look the other way. With our collective effort, we can make a difference. Please share your plan with us if you are organizing an event so we can help amplify your voice by encouraging people to join you and promote your events on social media.
Silence only aids the perpetrators. Keep your eyes on Sudan and raise your voices to hold those committing genocide accountable!
Thank you,
Niemat Ahmadi, Founder and President of DWAG
