2012 WOMEN AND GENOCIDE SYMPOSIUM

For the past 3 years, the Darfur Women's Action Group (DWAG) has been working with its allies to bring attention to the magnitude of genocide in Darfur and its impact on women. It has been educating the public about these issues, thus empowering survivors to bring their voices to international and regional forums.

This October 27th and 28th, Darfur Women's Action Group, along with its activist supporters, students, numerous experts on genocide and women's issues and celebrities from all over the United States, will come together to combine their words with action. By addressing genocide and its impact on women, we will define challenges and develop strategies for ending violence against women and the use of rape as a weapon of war. Empowering affected communities, achieving meaningful inclusion and justice for victims and influencing effective policy reforms that can bring a sustainable end to genocide in the 21st century is our goal.
