Washington, DC- As part of our campaign to bring the plight of the people of Darfur to our world’s leaders’ attention, DWAG’s president, Niemat Ahmadi, will be speaking today at a press conference in Rome this morning. The conference was organized by our friends and the long time supporters of our cause Italians for Darfur.

After the press conference DWAG’s president and Antonella Napolio, the president of Italians for Darfur and representative of the Darfuri community in Rome, will be heading to the Italian parliament. Ms. Ahmadi will be addressing the Italian parliament and Italians for Darfur will be presenting the 2016 report on the situation in Darfur. They will demand that the Italian government constructively contribute to the alleviation of those suffering in Darfur and the sustainable solution to end the crises permanently.

The day will be concluded by an evening event with the Italian community, NGO leaders and the Darfuri community in Italy to bring the attention to Darfur among the Italian public.

In the following days, our president will visit the Vatican and will deliver a special letter to His Holiness Pope Francis asking him to include Darfur in his deliberation at the global and national forums.
