Urgent Action

Centering survivors, women, and affected communities in meaningful participation in all decisions related to resolving the crisis, delivering accountability, and preventing future atrocities. 

Call for an end to attacks on civilian populations, including aerial bombardment, drone strikes, and siege tactics. and mandate the withdrawal of armed forces from civilian areas and protect displacement camps, hospitals, schools, and other civilian infrastructure.

Guarantee humanitarian access so humanitarian workers, supplies, and civilians can move safely and receive life-saving assistance. Support the humanitarian work of local women-led organizations in conflict-affected communities with rapid and flexible funding that can respond to their evolving needs.

Deploy effective international civilian protection mechanisms under Chapter VII  to safeguard civilians in conflict zones in Sudan.  Support protection for those facing heightened risk in conflict-affected and displaced communities. Protection mechanisms must have the mandate, resources, and capacity needed to respond to threats against civilians.

Fully resource and protect international accountability mechanisms, including the UN Fact-Finding Mission to strengthen efforts to investigate and prosecute those responsible for serious international crimes and end impunity. Ensure atrocities are systematically documented, evidence is preserved, and perpetrators of genocide, sexual violence, war crimes, and crimes against humanity are held accountable.

Confront perpetrators and dismantle their support by taking coordinated international action to isolate and sanction perpetrators and their financial, political, military, and other supporters, while cutting off the arms, financing, and resources that enable atrocities against civilians. This includes ending the UAE’s support for the Rapid Support Forces.
